The Tennessee Titans are getting used to this rematch business.

After beating Jacksonville for the third time this season in the AFC Championship -- becoming only the third team since 1970 to accomplish the feat -- the Titans had a Super rematch this week with the St. Louis Rams.

For only the 10th time in Super Bowl history, two teams that met in the regular season will meet again in the Super Bowl.

St. Louis got revenge for its 24-21 loss to Tennessee in Week 8 in Nashville.

In the regular-season meeting, the Rams nearly rallied from a 21-0 deficit (Jeff Wilkins missed a potential game-tying field goal with seven seconds remaining) and they outgained the Titans 415-281.

One More Time
Rematches of regular-season meetings in Super Bowl
Year  Regular Season  Super Bowl
1999  Titans 24, Rams 21  Rams 23, Titans 16 (XXXIV)
1994  49ers 38, Chargers 15  49ers 49, Chargers 26 (XXIX)
1993  Bills 13, Cowboys 10  Cowboys 30, Bills 13 (XXVII)
1990  Bills 17, Giants 13  Giants 20, Bills 19 (XXV)
1986  Giants 19, Broncos 16  Giants 39, Broncos 20 (XXI)
1985  Bears 20, Patriots 7  Bears 46, Patriots 10 (XX)
1983  Redskins 37, Raiders 35  Raiders 38, Redskins 9 (XVIII)
1981  49ers 21, Bengals 3  49ers 26, Bengals 21 (XVI)
1977  Cowboys 14, Broncos 6  Cowboys 27, Broncos 10 (XII)

It was the Rams' first loss of the season and one of only three they would suffer all season.

How does that affect the Super Bowl? Most likely, not at all.

Historically, revenge has been about a 50-50 proposition in the Super Bowl. Of the 10 previous times, the regular-season winner has prevailed again five times.

And, for what it's worth, of the five that won both meetings, all five were NFC teams.
