Scoring celebration
East defeats West 9-4 in MLS All-Star Game
Goals were expected to be more frequent in this year's MLS All-Star Game, and with the MetroStars' Clint Mathis scoring less than two minutes in, the game held true to form -- and then some. The East was especially effective with six second-half goals, including a quick pair from Tampa Bay's Mamadou Diallo, to run away with the victory. The goals helped to proved a point for Diallo, who was snubbed by voters despite being on pace to score a record number of goals this season.
