Divina Galicia wins Women's Global GT Posted: Saturday September 18, 1999 04:53 PM BRASELTON, GA. (AP) -- Divina Galica, a 20-year motorsports veteran, started on the pole, briefly lost the lead, then held off three challengers to win Saturday's Women's Global GT Series race at Road Atlanta. The win was the first for Sebring, Fla., driver, who became the series' fourth different winner in as many races. Belinda Endress of Newbury Park, Calif., chased Galica to the line, finishing just .487 of a second behind. Endress was followed by series points leader Cindi Lux of Aloha, Ore., Milka Duno of Caracas, Venezuela and Sara Senske of Kennewick, Wash. Alllison Duncan, Nikki LaRue of Erie, Colo., Pattie Hughes of Dublin, Ohio and Amy Ruman of Kent, Ohio were eliminated by accidents, but none of the drivers was injured.
All drivers drove Panoz Esperantes.
