2 -- Chris Antley's best career finish at the Belmont Stakes. Antley, who will ride Charismatic, finished second on Strike the Gold in 1991.
2:24 -- Track record for the Belmont, set by Secretariat in 1973. Secretariat's time is a world record for the mile-and-a-half distance on a dirt track.
3 -- Belmont wins by D. Wayne Lukas -- Tabasco Cat (1994), Thunder Gulch (1995) and Editor's Note (1996). He will shoot for his first Triple Crown win with Charismatic.
5 -- Consecutive years Woody Stephens trained Belmont winners (1982-86). Stephens, who died last year, never had another Belmont winner.
8 -- Belmont winners trained by James Rowe, the most in history. Rowe's last Belmont winner was Prince Eugene in 1913.
9 -- Jockeys that have won the Belmont in consecutive years. Rowe (1872-73), James McLaughlin (1882-84 and 1886-88), John Bullman (1902-03), Albert Johnson (1925-26), James Stout (1938-39), Eddie Arcaro (1941-42), Eric Guerin (1953-54), Ron Turcotte (1972-73), and Laffit Pincay Jr. (1982-84).
11 -- Horses that have won the Triple Crown, the last in 1978 when Affirmed accomplished the rare feat.
15 -- Largest field to start the Belmont Stakes, in 1983.
16 -- Horses that have won both the Kentucky Derby and the Preakness Stakes but did not win the Triple Crown, including two in the last two years -- Silver Charm (1997) and Real Quiet (1998). Two horses -- Burgoo King (1932) and Bold Venture (1936) -- did not compete in the Belmont after winning the first two jewels of the Triple Crown.
19 -- Horses beginning with the letter C that have won the Belmont, the most of any letter. There have been no winners whose names began with U, X or Y.
22 -- Times a horse has won from the No. 1 post position. No other post position has had more than 13 winners. Teletable, a pre-race longshot, drew the No. 1 post on Wednesday.
31 -- Lengths of Secretariat's win in 1973, the widest margin of victory in the race's history.
84 -- Years since a filly has won the Belmont. Nineteen have run the race, but only Ruthless (1867) and Tanya (1905) have been victorious.
82,694 -- Largest crowd ever to see the Belmont -- in 1971, when Pass Catcher ended Canonero II's Triple Crown bid.
600,000 -- Amount Victory Gallop earned for winning the Belmont last year. Gary Stevens rode the colt to victory in 2:29.
