MANHATTAN, Kansas (Ticker) -- Kansas State became bowl eligible as Josh Scobey rushed for 198 yards and two touchdowns in a 24-3 Big 12 Conference victory over Missouri. The Wildcats, one of only seven schools to make a bowl appearance every year since 1993, closed an up-and-down regular season with a two-game winning streak. Kansas State (6-5, 3-5 Big 12 North) lost four in a row in midseason, but rebounded to win three of its last four contests. The only loss during that stretch was a 31-21 defeat at Nebraska on November 10. After the defenses dominated for nearly 25 minutes, Scobey, who carried 34 times, reached the end zone of a 14-yard TD run to open the scoring with 5:55 remaining in the second quarter. Joe Rheem kicked a 22-yard field goal as time expired to give the Wildcats a 10-0 halftime lead. After a safety, Scobey scored on a 37-yard run to make it 18-0 with 11:16 left in the third quarter. Just the fifth 1,000-yard rusher in Kansas State history, Scobey finished the year with 1,263 yards and 15 touchdowns on 240 carries. Rheem booted a pair of field goals in the fourth quarter before Missouri (4-6, 3-5) avoided a shutout on Brad Hammerich's 39-yard kick with 53 seconds left. Marc Dunn completed 10-of-18 passes for 102 yards for the Wildcats, who ran for 298. Kirk Farmer had a miserable day for the Tigers, completing just 6-of-24 passes for 72 yards. Missouri's Zack Abron rushed for 101 yards on 15 attempts. The Tigers close their first season under Gary Pinkel next week against Michigan State.
