LAWRENCE, Kansas (Ticker) -- Reggie Duncan ran for 168 yards and two touchdowns as Kansas ended a six-game losing streak and gave Tom Hayes his first victory as coach with a 27-14 victory over Wyoming. The first meeting between the schools in 30 years initially was to be played early in the season but was postponed due to the terrorist attacks on the United States. The Jayhawks (3-8) won for the first time since October 6 vs. Texas Tech. Hayes replaced Terry Allen, who was dismissed after a 51-7 loss to Nebraska on November 3. The Cowboys (2-9) won two of their first three games, then closed their season with eight straight losses. Duncan's older brother, Robbie, was a cornerback at Wyoming from 1996-99. He carried 30 times, including touchdown runs of 10 and six yards in the first 10 minutes of the game. His first TD opened the scoring and his second gave Kansas the lead for good at 14-7. In the second half, Johnny Beck kicked field goals of 35 and 27 yards around a 46-yard touchdown pass from Mario Kinsey to Brandon Rideau, widening the lead to 27-7 with 14:49 to play. Kinsey completed 13-of-27 passes for 227 yards and one interception. Termaine Fulton caught three passes for 65 yards for the Jayhawks, who held a 451-286 advantage in total yards. Casey Bramlett was 14-of-31 for 165 yards and an interception for the Cowboys. Derek Armah and Ki Bradshaw ran for TDs for Wyoming.
