ORLANDO, Florida (Ticker) -- Ryan Schneider threw three touchdowns -- including a pair to Doug Gabriel -- as Central Florida won its final game as an independent, 31-0 over Louisiana-Lafayette.

Schneider was economical as he completed 10-of-15 passes for 188 yards, but he tossed TD strikes of 17 and 24 yards to Gabriel and 51 yards to Jimmy Fryzel.

The 188 yards was the second-lowest total of the season for Schneider, who finished 77 yards shy of 3,000.

The Golden Knights (6-5), who are headed to the Mid-American Conference next season, did all their damage in the first half.

Alex Haynes paced UCF on the ground with 88 yards on 10 carries. He concluded his freshman campaign with 697 yards on 10 touchdowns on 170 carries.

Matt Lane completed 16-of-32 for 138 yards for UL-Lafayette (3-8), but the Ragin' Cajuns were held to just 30 yards on the ground on 27 attempts.

UCF improved to 99-48-1 all-time in games played at the Citrus Bowl, including a 5-0 mark this year.
