DURHAM, North Carolina (Ticker) -- George Godsey and Kerry Watkins hooked up on a pair of touchdowns as 17th-ranked Georgia Tech handed Atlantic Coast Conference rival Duke its 17th straight loss, 37-10. Joe Burns rushed for two TDs and Luke Manget booted a pair of field goals for the Yellow Jackets (4-1, 1-1 ACC), who defeated the Blue Devils (0-5, 0-3) for the seventh straight time and 11th time in 12 games. Georgia Tech also won for the sixth straight time at Wallace-Wade Stadium. Duke's losing streak is the longest current slide in Division I-A. It has not won since defeating Wake Forest, 48-35, on November 13, 1999. They did put up a fight in this game, scoring 10 points in the final 1:35 of the first half to move within 17-10 at the break. But the Yellow Jackets responded with a 17-point third quarter to re-gain control. Manget connected from 26 yards 5:25 after halftime. A little less than five minutes later Godsey, who entered the contest ranked second in the national in passing efficiency, hit Watkins for a 15-yard scoring strike and a 27-10 Yellow Jackets' lead. With 14 seconds to play in the quarter, Burns scored on a one-yard drive, essentially sealing the outcome. Godsey completed 24-of-40 passes for 295 yards while being picked off twice for the Yellow Jackets, who rebounded from last weekend's heartbreaking 47-44 home overtime loss to Clemson. Burns totaled 122 yards on 24 attempts. Watkins, who caught four passes, hauled in a 15-yard TD strike from Godsey to open the scoring just under 11 minutes into the contest. Burns' 17-yard touchdown scamper made it 14-0 with 1:28 gone in the second period before Manget hit from 43 yards out shortly thereafter. Duke responded as Chris Douglas scored on a one-yard plunge and Brent Garber contributed a 30-yard field goal with 31 seconds to play before intermission. D. Bryant completed 11-of-29 passes for 201 yards while being sacked four times for the Blue Devils, Chris Douglas led Duke on the ground with 94 yards on 23 carries.
