WACO, Texas (Ticker) -- Steffanie Blackmon came off the bench to score 21 points and grab 11 rebounds as second seed Baylor gained its first NCAA postseason victory, 80-56 over No. 15 seed Bucknell in the first round of the East Regional.

Blackmon shot 7-of-15 from the field and 7-of-7 at the free throw line for the Lady Bears (27-5), who are playing in the NCAA Tournament for the second time in history. They were a No. 8 seed last season and lost to Arkansas in the first round.

Sheila Lambert added 17 points and Danielle Crockrom had 14 and seven rebounds as Baylor won its 19th consecutive non-conference game at the Ferrell Center. Its last home non-conference loss was an 80-69 setback to Arkansas on December 2, 1999.

Molly Creamer scored 18 points and Desire Almind contributed 14 and six rebounds but Bucknell (21-10) fell in its first-ever NCAA Tournament game. The Bisons qualified for the event by winning the school's first women's basketball Patriot League Championship last Wednesday.

Leading by six points with 11:29 left in the first half, Baylor used an 11-0 run to take a 34-17 advantage with 8:31 before halftime. The Lady Bears were up, 47-27, at the intermission and were never seriously challenged the rest of the way.

Baylor connected on 60 percent (18-of-30) of its shots in the first half while Bucknell went 9-of-31 (29 percent). The Lady Bears finished with a 52-percent mark (32-of-62) and outrebounded the Bisons, 47-27.

Bucknell shot 31 percent (20-of-64), including 4-of-12 from 3-point range.

Baylor will take on No. 7 seed Drake in the next round on Sunday.
